Internal merger 'will help Morgan Sindall boost market share'

The head of the newly-merged Morgan Sindall has expressed his optimism over the deal

By merging its construction and engineering arms, the Morgan Sindall Group is confident that it can boost its presence in the UK market.

Following on from internal negotiations, it has been confirmed that Morgan Ashurst, Morgan Est and Morgan Professional Services have been brought together to form Morgan Sindall, a single entity boasting a workforce in excess of 4,800 employees.

As well as helping the company expand its operations across the UK, the merger is also anticipated to benefit existing clients, which include the likes of BAA, Airbus and London Underground, the managing director of the new-look group, Graham Shennan has stated.

"We have received a positive response to the idea from all our clients," he said in an interview with Construction Enquirer.

"Bringing construction and infrastructure together under the Morgan Sindall name gives us a very robust business and I would back us to gain market share."

Just last month, the company won a contract to build a new state-of-the-art health centre in the Yorkshire town of Barnsley.
