Time Warner negotiating Shed Media acquisition

Subsidiary firm Warner Bros Entertainment could make £75m bid

21 June 2010

US media giant Time Warner is negotiating the possible acquisition of Shed Media, the UK-based television production company.

Shed Media confirmed that they were in offer talks with Warner Bros Entertainment, a subsidiary firm of Time Warner.

The US company reportedly plan to make a bid of around £75 million for the British firm, which is responsible for shows such as Supernanny and Footballers' Wives.

Last year, a consortium comprising of two funds private-equity funds made tentative inquiries about a possible takeover bid.

Talks between the two sides collapsed earlier this month but Shed Media continued to be open to any offers from potential investors.

Time Warner is looking to expand its London division as it aims to exploit new markets following the international success of some of its US shows.

Shed recorded a 34 per cent rise in pre-tax profit last year due to lower revenue costs and continued to post positive reports during 2010.
