MF Management signals growth intent with PFD takeover

PFD and MF Management merge to form The Rights House.

20 May 2010

Michael Foster, the well-known showbusiness agent, has concluded negotiations for the acquisition of the agency PFD.

His firm MF Management will merge with newly bought PFD to form The Rights House.

The fresh setup will boast a number of well-known people among its client base, with celebrities ranging from Monty Don to Sam Neill on the books.

PFD recently hit a troubled period following the departure of 20 staff members who left to set up a rival firm United Agents.

The merger will result in a number of casualties, with ten existing PFD staff set to lose their jobs.

PFD was bought for £4 million only two years ago. That deal, which was financed by a group of City investors, was spearheaded by the broadcaster Andrew Neill.

Having taken up the position of chairman following that deal and held it ever since, Mr Neill will no longer play a role within the firm.
