Arriva Trains Wales to hold strike negotiations
Rail union Aslef has planned 24 hours of industrial action to take place this Friday.
Arriva Trains Wales is set to hold strike negotiations with the rail union Aslef in a bid to put a halt to a 24-hour planned walkout due to take place on Friday (November 19th).
A spokesman for Arriva was quoted by the BBC as saying that both sides would be entering the talks looking to find a resolution, with the company trying to do all they possibly can to prevent industrial action.
Disruptions to the train company's services on Friday could affect those travelling to the rugby union match taking place at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff between Wales and Fiji.
In addition, further strikes have been scheduled for the following Friday and Saturday, during which time Wales take on New Zealand at the same venue, the news source noted.
Last week, director-general of the BBC Mark Thompson said the corporation was now prepared to hold talks with the National Union of Journalists in order to prevent another walkout over the broadcaster's pension's deficit.
