Sales negotiations between Laird Technologies and the Cattron Group have now been completed, resulting in the merger of the two businesses.

Cattron is a designer and supplier of wireless remote control systems that serve industrial, mining and railroad markets globally.

Martin Rapp, chief executive of Laird, said: "Cattron's leading position in the rail, mining and industrial markets that Laird Technologies does not currently serve will help us grow more broadly in these markets."

He added that its capabilities and experience in providing full systems and broad applications software will help his company to continue to expand its services.

Chief executive of Cattron John Paul said he was excited by the prospect of joining forces with Laird and expects the merger to help his firm reach the next level of providing the best in productivity solutions and safety to customers.

Laird is a global designer and manufacturer of electromagnetic interference shielding, telematics, wireless antenna solutions and thermal management products.
