Alcatel-Lucent 'attending business negotiations'
Business negotiations are being attended by Alcatel-Lucent, it has been claimed.
Alcatel-Lucent is attending business negotiations in regard to a potential buyout, it has been claimed.
Reuteurs cites reports from sources close to the matter, who suggest that the technology specialist is weighing up interest in the purchase of its enterprise business.
They claimed that private equity firms are thought to be among those keen to attend the sales negotiations and pointed to Hewlett-Packard, Avaya and Cisco as "strategic parties" that could show an interest.
Similarly, Siemens Enterprise Communications, whose majority stake is owned by Gores Group, is thought to be "the lead horse" in the process.
However, Reuters noted that German engineering specialist Siemens possesses the rest of the firm and would need to be consulted before any purchase decision is made.
When consulted on the state of business negoatiations, Gores Group and Simens declined to comment.
Alcatel-Lucent produces a range of mobile, fixed and optics technologies and engages in cutting-edge research at its Bell Labs facility.
