Strike negotiations prevent Bectu walkout
Bectu has postponed a planned strike as it waits to hear the result of appeals.
Strike action has been averted after Bectu members working for BBC Wales agreed to postpone any protests.
After union bargaining was carried out, an agreement was decided upon that will see the planned demonstration for August 26th suspended.
The reason for the move is that so all outstanding appeals against the planned compulsory dismissals can be heard.
Bectu - which has over 25,000 members in film, theatre and entertainment, among other areas - believes the redundancies can be avoided by redeployment and so staff are willing to take to the picket line in order to demonstrate this point.
David Donovan, national officer for Wales for the union, told Journalism.co.uk: "We are not just flying a kite here, we believe we have a good case for our members."
He added that if the redundancies are still pushed through, then the group will have to re-evaluate whether or not to stage a strike.
