Thomson Reuters acquires GFMS
Thomson Reuters has completed a deal that will see it take over metal analysis firm GFMS.
News service provider Thomson Reuters has completed the acquisition of metal analysis company GFMS Limited.
With business negotiations now complete, the scale of the agreement is not yet known,
Shaun Sibley, global head of commodities at Thomson Reuters, noted the purchase of GFMS will assist the firm in delivering "best-of-breed, specialist services and unique content".
"This investment ... is helping us deepen those propositions by bringing in specialist talent to our team which delivers invaluable insight … to our clients," he added.
Customers of Thomson Reuters can expect to be able to see forecast analytics and rich fundamentals content as a result of the union.
The current chairman and chief executive officer of GFMS - Philip Klapwijk and Paul Walker - are going to be staying with the organisation, but will be taking up new roles.
It comes after Thomson Reuters recently launched the online document assembly tool Westlaw Form Builder.
