Arriva Trains Wales apply for injunction
Negotiation strategies could be required to end the dispute between Arriva Trains Wales and the rail union RMT.
Negotiation strategies could be in the spotlight today (February 1st) as Arriva Trains Wales and rail union RMT have failed to come to an agreement about an expected strike.
On February 4th a rail strike is set to take place to coincide with the England versus Wales Six Nations match in Cardiff.
Despite negotiation strategies being used at a meeting yesterday, the strike is reported as going ahead and Arriva Trains Wales is now seeking a court injunction to try and stop the action.
A different approach to negotiation strategies may therefore be taken in order to come to an agreement before Friday.
"We have done everything we can to bring this situation to a resolution and we are now seeking a court injunction to stop the planned industrial action," claimed operations and safety director for Arriva Peter Leppard.
The train company informed passengers that tickets already purchased for travel on Friday can be used either on the day before or after.
