Dell makes Compellent Technologies acquisition
Dell has revealed a new deal which will see it acquire Compellent Technologies.
Sales negotiations between Dell and Compellent Technologies have led to an acquirement agreement, Dell has announced.
Yesterday (February 22nd), the firm revealed that the acquisition of Compellent Technologies - a company specialising in multiple drive types including solid state, fibre channel and serial attached fire systems - in a deal aimed at strengthening Dell's mid-range stock.
According to Dell, the sales negotiation and subsequent deal will allow the brand to increase its current iSCSI scalability to 1,000TB or higher.
"The Compellent Technologies automated data tiering technology is the most advanced in the industry and provides optimization for enhanced performance and outstanding capacity management," Dell explained.
Dell's new acquisition follows successful sales negotiations and deals with two other firms, Ocarina and Exanet.
Dell was founded in 1984 by Michael Dell, in Austin, Texas. It currently employs 96,000 people globally and ships more than 110,000 systems each day, to 180 different countries.
