Quest Software acquires e-DMZ Security

Sales negotiations between Quest Software and e-DMZ Security lead to deal.

California firm Quest Software has acquired the assets of privileged access control and privileged identity management e-DMZ Security in a bid to expand its business portfolio.

The Total Privilege Access Management Suite from e-DMZ will allow Quest One to add four solutions to its offerings, the firm said, privileged password management, application password management, privileged command management and privileged session management.

Commenting on the acquisition, president and chief executive officer of Quest Software Doug Garn said: "With the addition of e-DMZ, Quest One will now be able to help organizations ensure security and compliance around privileged accounts across their entire enterprise, strengthening their overall governance, and meeting security initiatives and requirements."

Quest Software is a market leader in IT management and aims to aid companies to reduce the cost of their IT operations, as well as making the management of them easier.

e-DMZ Security was established in 2001 and has operations in 17 countries.
