Ball completes Aerocan acquisition

Ball Corporation has announced the successful acquisition of Aerocan SAS.

21 January 2011

US firm Ball Corporation has announced the closure of sales negotiations with aluminium aerosol cans supplier Aerocan SAS since it has successfully acquired the company.

The latter organisation manufactures aerosol cans and bottles as well as the aluminium slugs used to create them, with many products going to customers in the pharmaceutical and food and beverage industries.

It operates three plants, one in the Czech Republic, one in France and another in the UK.

Aerocan also own 51 per cent of a joint venture slug plant in Beaupaire and together these manufacturing facilities employ about 560 people.

Through its latest successful negotiations strategies, Ball will add to its already large workforce, which stood at 14,500 people before the acquisition.

In 2009, the company recorded sales of more than $7.3 billion, including discontinued operations.

Ball supplies packaging for the beverage, food and household products industries, but also has interests in aerospace and other sectors.
