Negotiation techniques 'aid NCR purchase of Radiant Systems'

NCR has completed a deal to take over Radiant Systems for $1.2 billion.

A range of negotiation techniques may have been used to help global technology company NCR complete a deal for Radiant Systems.

With the sales negotiations now finished, a £1.2 billion (£751 million) agreement has been passed by both boards of directors.

Subject to regulatory approval, the transaction is expected to be completed by the third quarter of the year.

NCR chairman and chief executive officer Bill Nuti - whose firm employed 21,000 people in 2010 - noted the attainment of Radiant Systems represents a "logical and strategic extension" for his firm.

"This acquisition will enable our companies to accelerate expansion through the powerful combination of each other's strengths and NCR's track record of driving transformational change," he added.

John Heyman, chief executive officer of Radiant Systems - which offers technological solutions to the hospitality and retail industries - noted working with NCR will help his organisation to offer a better service to its customers.
