Merger and acquisition consultants given green light to conclude deal
The European Commission has allowed a takeover of iSoft by CSC, it was revealed yesterday (June 21st).
Merger and acquisition consultants look set to be able to finalise a deal between CSC and iSoft, it emerged yesterday (June 21st).
This proposed acquisition of healthcare software manufacturer iSoft by CSC had to go through a period of scrutiny from the European Commission (EC), but it has now been announced it has been ratified.
The transaction was first revealed earlier this year, but was prevented from going through initially by the EC on the basis that it may have an overly adverse effect on competition in the sector.
However, in an official statement, the policymaking body indicated it is satisfied this will not be the case.
"CSC further faces strong competitive constraints from alternative IT service providers such as BT, which may partner with alternative healthcare software providers," the EC noted.
This comes after it was announced that international business negotiations regarding the takeover of Canadian firm Elko Energy by Xtract Energy had concluded.
