Lumison acquires Blue Square Data
Lumison has made its first acquisition - Blue Square Data.
Lumison has taken over a data centre-based provider of collocation services in its first acquisition.
The UK firm - associated with connectivity, hosting and managed IT services - has pushed forward a deal with Blue Square Data at an initial consideration of £22 million, something negotiation strategies may have assisted.
Blue Square Data operates data centres in Milton Keynes and Maidenhead, allowing customers to locate their servers in facilities with high levels of security and resilient power, cooling and network connectivity.
Mark Howling, executive chairman at Lumison, said the move will "more than treble the rack capacity we can now offer our customers and extends our catchment area of potential customers across the UK".
He added it marks a step forward in the company's aim to provide the fully-integrated and high quality IT services needed by medium-sized firms.
Lumison was established in 1995 and its client portfolio includes small and medium-sized enterprises as well as large and public sector organisations.
