Puig 'engaged in business negotiations with Jean-Paul Gaultier'
Business negotiations are taking place between Puig and Jean-Paul Gaultier.
Spanish scent specialist Puig is conducting business negotiations with a view to buying control of French fashion house Jean-Paul Gaultier.
This is according to a Reuters report - which cited the comments of a source close to the issue - who suggested that the contract negotiation has been proceeding for several days.
"The deal is not done yet," the anonymous source revealed. "However, if a deal happens, it will be with Puig."
It was also revealed that the talks are currently focused on how much of a stake Gaultier himself is willing to sell in the fashion house, of which he currently owns 55 per cent.
Sources had previously told the publication that Puig has been the frontrunner to buy the French company from the start of the business negotiations.
Last week, Reuters claimed a source had revealed General Electric is among the firms bidding for Swiss metering specialist Landis+Gyr.
