Sales negotiations result in Acciona car park sell-off

Acciona is to sell of a number of its car parks.

23 May 2011

International business negotiations have seen renewable infrastructure specialist Acciona sell off 30 of its car parks in Spain, Andorra and Brazil.

Operations in the South American country have been acquired by Horapark Sistema de Estacionamiento Rotativo, while EQT Infrastructure has taken control of the company's European assets.

More than 17,000 parking spaces have been sold off as a result of the sales negotiations, which has seen Acciona gain €190 million (£164 million).

The company now awaits regulatory approval from Spain's Comision Nacional de la Competencia and expects the deal to go ahead next July.

Acciona set out the ways in which the move complements its current strategies in the sector.

"This operation is part of Acciona's corporate strategy of rotation of mature assets, aimed at maximising growth potential and the profitability of invested capital," it said.

Nycomed and Almirall recently entered into a co-branding agreement, which will see the pair join forces on the commercialisation of pulmonary disease treatment Roflumilast in Spain.
