Nipsa members to back strike action
Some 67 per cent of those who voted are in favour of strike action.
The Northern Ireland Public Service Alliance (Nipsa) has confirmed it will take part in the November 30th strike.
Nearly 67 per cent of those who voted in the union's ballot are in favour of industrial action, with the turnout 43 per cent.
Brian Campfield, general secretary of Nipsa - which has over 45,000 members - said the results show people are "decisively" in support of protesting.
The body may still try to use union bargaining to try and reach a settlement that will avert the planned demonstrations on November 30th.
"Our members have demonstrated their determination to take a stand against the attacks on their pensions, pay and jobs," Mr Campfield stated.
He labelled the current course of action being followed by the government as "destructive" and called for the current system of tax relief to be changed.
It comes after over 245,000 affiliates of Unison backed industrial action.
