Strike negotiations 'deliver deal for Unite and Fujitsu'
Unite called off a strike after holding last minute discussions with Fujitsu.
Strike negotiations between Unite and Fujitsu have prevented industrial action from taking place.
Last minute discussions between the parties resulted in a planned protest at the Conservative Conference in Manchester being halted.
Kevin O'Gallagher, national officer for Unite - which has over 1.5 million members - said: "Our members do not take strike action lightly. The agreement reached is good news for both our members and for Fujitsu."
He added that further consultations have been planned with Fujitsu and he hopes it will lead to an improved offer from the organisation.
However, Unite workers at Ratcliffe power station in Nottingham are taking to the picket line in a row over a proposed 30 per cent pay cut.
A two-hour demonstration is planned for October 7th and those participating hope to raise the issue of rogue employers de-skilling many of the professions so they can reduce how much they pay some staff.
