Negotiation skill needed for Porsche and Volkswagen merger?

Talks between the two parties have come to a halt due to legal reasons.

Negotiation skill may be required to complete the potential merger of Porsche and Volkswagen.

Reports suggest talks between the two parties have now come to a halt due to legal reasons.

The stalling of the agreement caused Porsche's shares to fall sharply on Friday (September 8th), when news of the situation emerged.

A range of options remain open to the two organisations, as they could decide against a full merger and instead allow Volkswagen to acquire Porsche's car-making operations.

Juergen Pieper, a Bankhaus Metzler analyst in Frankfurt, is quoted by Bloomberg as saying: " Both companies are attractively valued, whether Porsche is integrated or not.

"The cooperation between the two companies can continue well and good as it is.”

Recently, Neasa Quigley, head of corporate finance at Carson McDowell, expressed the belief that the mergers and acquisitions market is beginning to look healthier and is set to be boosted in the near future.
