Bristol printing firms to merge
Two printing firms in Bristol are to merge.
Contract negotiations could ensure the merger between two print businesses in Bristol is completed smoothly.
Bristol Business News reports that Burleigh Press and Portishead Press are to join together, creating a new enterprise called BurleighPortishead.
It will operate from Burleigh's current headquarters - a 10,000 sq ft purpose-built structure at Harbourmead.
Together, the two organisations have 153 years of experience, as well as cutting-edge technology and digital expertise.
Portishead also uses green electricity company Ecotricity to power its equipment and utilises vegetable oil based inks for environmentally-friendly four-colour printing tasks.
Burleigh managing director Greg Corrigan told the publication: "This is a really exciting development for both companies and represents the creation of the first of a new generation of multi-media communication businesses in this region."
Existing directors will form the new board of the combined enterprise, while all 18 members of staff will be retained.
The new company is expected to provide additional services to its wider client base, while expanding its direct mail, digital print and design divisions.
