CEIVU in Brazil bought by CareerBuilder

CareerBuilder has acquired CEVIU.com.br.

18 April 2012

Business negotiations relating to the acquisition of CEVIU.com.br by CareerBuilder could have come to an end, as the deal has gone ahead.

This should help CareerBuilder expand into South American territories by enabling Brazilian workers and employers to see a broader range of job and recruitment resources.

Chief executive officer of the firm Matt Ferguson noted Brazil is one of the most rapidly-growing emerging economies in the world and could be a "great inroad" into the continent.

"Partnering with the top IT job board in this important market is a key step in CareerBuilder's international expansion," he added.

Around two-fifths of residents in the country can access the web, with Internet World Stats revealing this proportion is increasing quickly.

Although it is Earth's fifth most populous nation, its unemployment rate was just 5.7 per cent during February 2012.

Furthermore, the Olympic Games and FIFA World Cup will soon be hosted in Brazil, which BuyAssociation editor Paul Collins recently said will bring "global attention to the region".
