Ebix completes acquisition of Taimma
Taimma has been bought by Ebix.
Negotiation techniques could have helped in the acquisition of Taimma Communications by Ebix.
Montreal-based Taimma provides e-learning solutions to healthcare, biotechnology and pharmaceutical firms and it is thought the purchase of it could help Ebix to enter the mobile learning (m-learning) sector.
Taimma has provided more than 20 organisations worldwide with its off-the-shelf learning programs and can collaborate with enterprises to develop the right solutions for them.
"The success of the iPad and similar handheld devices has opened up tremendous opportunities in the field of medical education and m-learning," president, chief executive officer and chairman of the board at Ebix Robin Raina said.
Furthermore, Ebix announced that Taimma will be integrated into its A. D. A. M. Health Information Exchange Division and noted the transaction was completed entirely in cash using existing reserves.
No investment bankers were utilised and no Ebix shares were issued, the firm noted.
The transaction is expected to be accretive to the earnings per share ratio of Ebix.
