Merger between Morecambe law firms completed
Two law firms in Morecambe have merged.
Merger and acquisition consultants could assist in the tie-up of Morecambe law firms The Penhale Practice and Baines Bagguley, which have recently combined their operations.
The Lancaster Guardian reports the organisations had entered business negotiations relating to the tie-up near the end of 2011 and had intended for the merged enterprise to begin operating on April 1st 2012.
This target date was achieved and the new company is called Baines Bagguley Penhale and is running from 15 Northumberland Street, Morecambe.
"I am extremely pleased that the Penhale name - which has so many associations in the area over a long period - will remain as part of the legal landscape," partner Nicola Codd was quoted by the news source as saying.
Currently, the business has 12 support staff and seven fee-earning employees, with new appointments expected to be made soon.
It provides advice on a wide range of subjects, including family and childcare, house sales and purchases, employment law, wills, probate, debt recovery and commercial matters.
