Nothing but negotiation

The Gap Partnership acquires patents is purchasing VoIP patents.

11 April 2012 might have given its staff sales negotiation training to help them acquire the intellectual property relating to voice over internet protocol (VoIP) applications in both the retail and wholesale sectors.

This deals with VoIP-related patents in gateways, billings, mobile applications and a number of other tools.

Shareholder value will be substantially enhanced through the acquisition and is set to receive a notable growth in revenue.

All of the patents it intends to purchase are currently being utilised by the VoIP services sector, which is expected to be worth $74.5 billion (£46.86 billion) by 2015.

"We are excited to soon begin a totally new revenue stream through the licensing of these landmark patents," president of the company Dennis Chang said.

He pointed out the final agreement will be announced when it has been completed and is subject to a number of customary conditions.

Dave Dadds, deputy chairman of the Federation of Communication Services, recently predicted that VoIP technology is "here to stay".
