FLSmidth plans Decanter Machine acquisition
FLSmidth has entered into an acquisition agreement with Decanter Machine.
FLSmidth will take over Decanter Machine following a period of contract negotiations between the two companies.
The deal, which is subject to real estate rezoning in September, was completed for an undisclosed amount, with both parties agreeing to secrecy on value.
FLSmidth group chief executive officer Jorgen Huno Rasmussen said the arrangement is an "important step" in his company moving forward in six key markets - coal, iron ore, copper, gold, cement and fertiliser minerals.
"The acquisitions of the Australian company Ludowici in July and Decanter have strengthened our minerals offerings, making a perfect basis for us to become our customers' preferred full service provider," he explained.
Decanter manufactures hyperbaric centrifuges for mineral operations and works mainly in the coal sector.
It has approximately 150 employees in offices across the world, including headquarters in Johnson City, Tennessee, as well as other sites in South Carolina and New South Wales, Australia.
