CVC Capital Partners acquires Ahlsell
CVC Capital Partners has bought Ahlsell.
Using business negotiation skills, CVC Capital Partners has confirmed it has completed exclusive acquisition discussions regarding the acquisition of Ahlsell.
It will purchase the business - the leading wholesaler of technical products in the Nordics - from Goldman Sachs Capital Partners and Cinven for €1.8 billion (£1.52 billion).
Ahlsell chief executive officer and president Goran Nasholm said his firm believes this deal will "result in the building of an even stronger company".
He pointed to CVC's track record of investing in its portfolio during the long term, noting the two firms have a shared vision.
CVC can also provide Ahlsell with the "capital and expertise" needed to support it during renewed growth, Mr Nasholm added.
Currently, 4,500 individuals are employed by Ahlsell in 220 stores across Russia, Estonia, Denmark, Norway, Sweden and Finland.
CVC is involved in the management of capital for private, institutional and state organisations.
Money is invested on their behalf in closed-end funds for at least ten years.
