IFA Jones Sheridan has completed an acquisition of KF Garner Financial Consulting.

19 January 2012

Jones Sheridan, an independent financial advisor (IFA) based in Crewe, may have used negotiation skills during its recent run of acquisitions, which has resulted in it purchasing KF Garner Financial Consulting, an advisory firm located in Warrington.

Citywire reports this will boost the amount of funds Jones Sheridan provides recommendations to by an estimated £12 million to reach £150 million, while increasing its client list by 400.

Managing director of the organisation David Williams noted the enterprise intends to buy more companies during 2012 before the Retail Distribution Review (RDR) takes effect on December 31st.

When this happens, all advisers dealing with investment into retailers will be affected and the Financial Services Authority suggests these businesses begin to make the required alterations in preparation of this.

Mr Williams was quoted by Citywire as saying: "Typically we are looking at older IFAs, one-man bands ahead of the RDR who are thinking 'do I really want to be on my own?'."
