Telescape completes Sage purchase
Sage Telecom has been bought by Telescape.
Sage Telecom has been acquired by Telescape Communications.
Financial terms of the deal have not been disclosed, although merger and acquisition advisors provided assistance relating to the tie-up and related funding issues.
Sage is one of the largest competitive local exchange carriers (CLECs) in the US and primarily deals in rural and suburban communities, where it services small businesses and residential clients.
Chairman of the board at Telescape Nathan Johnson revealed the transaction is an "important strategic step" for his firm.
It should immediately give the business access to a wider marketplace, while enhancing its innovative capabilities and operational expertise by providing it with Sage employees, he remarked.
"Together we expect to gain increased operating leverage, profitability and growth in our business lines," the chairman stated.
Telescape is a privately-held CLEC services provider, headquarted in Los Angeles and focusing on Nevada and southern California.
Primarily, the firm deals with Hispanic American members of the public.
