The Orchard and Ioda 'are better together'

Ioda and The Orchard have merged, the firms have confirmed.

07 March 2012

Ioda and The Orchard have confirmed they have merged.

Negotiation strategies could have been used during the join-up and the combined enterprise will operate under The Orchard and be led by chief executive officer Brad Navin.

Founder of Ioda Kevin Arnold will take on an advisory position in the business and work alongside part-owner Sony on strategic initiatives.

Mr Navin claimed the two companies have "always shared the same DNA".

Both organisations create technology that can empower companies and individuals who create content, he explained, arguing they were also established in a digital environment before it was considered a meaningful platform to conduct business.

The Orchard will still aim to bring its clients an "impeccable service" at a high value and will continue to act as a voice for independent content creators, the chief added.

In an email to its labels that confirmed the deal, the enterprise said: "The main point is, we're better together."
