Vista Equity Partners completes Essential Learning acquisition

Vista Equity Partners has bought e-learning provider Essential Learning.

Vista Equity Partners could have used merger and acquisition consultants during its purchase of Essential Learning, which provides e-learning tools for organisations in the behavioural and community healthcare sectors.

These include those involved in child welfare, substance abuse, developmental disabilities and correctional institutions.

Essential Learning chief executive officer and co-founder Susan Erskie explained the deal should help the business to grow and will put it in a good position for the future.

"Essential Learning fits our investment and operating profile and we are tremendously excited," Vista Equity Partners Foundation Fund principal and co-head Alan Cline declared.

He noted the newly-acquired firm has "clearly demonstrated expertise in helping its customers achieve success meeting their e-learning needs".

Co-founder and president of Essential Learning Lorraine Watson is also going to retire from the enterprise after a successful and exciting career.

Recently, Vista Equity Partners bought Thomson Reuters Trade and Risk Management business, renamed it Turaz and appointed Bret Bolin as chief executive officer and president.
