Accountancy firms 'set to merge'
Accountancy firms BDO and PKF are to unveil merger plans later today, it has been claimed.
Accountancy firms BDO and PKF are on the brink of announcing a merger, it has been claimed.
The Business Desk has stated it is its understanding that BDO's partners have voted in favour of the proposed deal, which has been struck following business negotiations between the pair.
It added that staff at both companies will be informed of the situation this morning (November 7th) before a formal public announcement is made.
BDO is presently the sixth largest accountancy firm in the UK and PKF is the 12th.
The move would be in line with other transactions between the two companies elsewhere in the world, such as Australia.
Last month, BDO revealed it had merged with PKF's Adelaide office, with the combined operation working under the BDO name from January 1st 2013, when the merger comes into effect.
The South Australian capital is the home base of PKF's national chairman Kyffin Thompson.
