Pediatric Cardiology of Austin bought by Mednax

Mednax bought Pediatric Cardiology of Austin.

Mednax has acquired Pediatric Cardiology of Austin.

Although sales negotiations would have been used to work out a value for this deal and it was confirmed that the purchase of the practice was in cash, the enterprises did not disclose additional terms of the transaction.

This acquisition has resulted in Pediatric Cardiology of Austin's physicians and employees becoming part of Mednax's Pediatrix Medical Group, bringing the total number of practices that are in this organisation up to five.

Currently, Mednax has more than 1,900 physicians in its employ, stretching across Puerto Rico and 34 US states.

Pediatric Cardiology of Austin was first set up in 2001 by Dr Ronald Shapiro, who said: "Our practice's core values of quality care, customer service and patient satisfaction are very much aligned with those of Pediatrix Medical Group."

He predicted that the tie-up will support his firm's expansion prospects and provide benefits to patients in the community.
