ToolSelect interested in Senco-Expandet acquisition

Senco has acquired Danish firm Expandet.

03 September 2012

Expandet A/S of Denmark has been acquired by Senco.

Following business negotiations between the enterprises, chief executive officer of Senco Brands Ben Johansen said his firm is looking forwards to finding out how the deal can enhance its international business dealings "in terms of product diversification and alternative markets".

He described Expandet, which was first set up in 1995, as a "qualified and deeply-experienced organisation", predicting that in the long-term, the newly-acquired firm will be "extremely valuable" to Senco.

Members of the ToolSelect community have been discussing the tie-up, with director of excitement Gerry Barnaby claiming it will be "fun to see" the impact the acquisition will have.

Senco manufactures gas, battery and air-powered tools, including screw-guns, staplers and nailers, with its items available in at least 40 countries, while Expandet delivers fasteners throughout Africa, the Middle East and Europe.

ToolSelect's community members include novices and experienced tradesmen, who debate tools, trade tips and compare notes with each other.
